dust? anyone? no? dust? [Dec. 7th, 2005|04:57 pm]
Your Inner Retro Girl Is
1960s Mod Girl

1. What time did you get up this morning? ahhh, morning?

2. Diamond or pearls?
Diamonds are purtier. That said, a black pearl necklace would have to be a pretty ultimate piece of jewelary for me.

3. What was the last film you saw at the cinema? Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It was good, despite the almost COMPLETE LACK of Jonny and Phil and Jarvis in the ball scene. NOT HAPPY GUYS.

4. What is your favourite TV show? That would be the Boosh. But I also love scrubs and black books and coupling a whole load. And then there's the classics like not the nine o'clock news and blackadder. oh the joy that is Brittish comedy.

6. What is your favourite cuisine? If cuisine refers to a culture of food, then probably italian. My favourite meals are anything with pesto. I love pesto and fetta and tabbouleh and yummy things like that. Anything my sister in law makes really.

7. What foods do you dislike? Ahhh I'm not a big seafood person. Prawns make me gag. I used to love them. Not any more.

8. What is your favourite chip flavour? Red Rock Deli Lime and Cracked Pepper. That shit is gun. Otherwise i just like plain.

9. What is your favourite CD at the moment? I'm going back to the classics at the moment. Loving Revolver by The Beatles and The Queen is Dead by The Smiths. Also I'm listening to Elliot Smith a lot, Basement on a Hill. Oh, and I just bought Demon Days by Gorillaz and that's pretty fly also.

10. Type of car do you drive? I do not drive. However, if I did, I would drive a Mitsubishi Mirage that my parents bought ages ago for me and my brother to learn in. My last two girlfriends have driven that car more than i have. What a disappointment i am.

11. Favourite sandwich? chicken OR ham with tabbouleh, fetta and pesto. Fucking delicious. Or anything that noah makes, he makes the best sandwiches evs.

12. What characteristic do you despise?  Intolerance. I cannot tolerate it. Ha. People who impose themselves or their beliefs on you. Ignorance. Patronising people.

13. Favourite item(s) of clothing? My black jeans. Oh underwear though. Gotta love underwear. and fishies. Best invention since, like, forevs.

14. If you could go anywhere, where would you go? Hmmm. I would love to go to Oxford. I would love to go back to 98 and see radiohead, anywhere. But i suppose thats a when, not a where. I want to explore italy. Hm. Honestly actually, this second, if i could go anywhere, it would be Geelong-ish. Stupid Geelongish.

15. What colour is your bathroom? Cream with little tiles around it that are blue and have starfish on them :) and the other one is white, and the other one is kinda creamy white.

16. Favourite brand of clothing? Ahhh i dunno about brands. I like stuff from scarab but that's not really a brand. Clothes from Maiocchi are gorgeous too but generally too expensive. Oh, i like Nelson Molloy's stuff and stuff from the shop at 610, i think it's called imperial-t, and also there's a girl who sells stuff at the valley markets and she's called Eillim i believe, she makes some cool shirts. She made that tastes like rad shirt that hannah has adopted. I love that shirt. ahaha i keep writing shite instead of shirt. Um so yes, more designers than brands.

17. Where would you retire to? Ahhh Bardon probably, in Australia. I would love to retire to live in Como in Italy. I can't imagine a more beautiful place to grow old.

18. Favourite time of day? Sunrise. Especially when I'm on the phone.

19. What was your most memorable birthday? Hmmm. I would say my 18th but i dont remember it so well. Probably my 16th actually. That was a good night.

20. Where were you born? Well, for a long time i was told MELBOURNE BUT IT TURNS OUT THAT NOOOOO i was born in freaking Brisbane. Stupid lame ass parents. You know my parents can't even remember my first word? Apparantly they couldn't be bothered keeping track by the time i came around. Bastards.

21.Favorite sport to watch? Soccer is always fun. And watching the tennis with the fam with frozen mars bars is always good too.

24. What fabric detergent do you use? No idea. I don't wash.

25. Coke or Pepsi? Coke. "Breasts are a little bit like coke or pepsi. We might state a preference, but really we'll take whatever's on tap. " quote from that comedian with purple dreds.

26. Are you a morning person or night owl? Definate, definate night owl. Absolutely.

27. What is your shoe size? 6ish or 7ish usually. Sometimes bigger or smaller.

28. Do you have any pets? Two dogs, tommy and dexter. I love them, despite the fact that they are both INSANE.

29. Any new & exciting news you'd like to share with your family or friends? Excited? I'm excited. Poor ol Big Kev. Apparantly he got a bit too excited recently and died of a heart attack. So i read, anyway. Um exciting news though....none really.

30. What did you want to be when you were little? Ahhh, famous actress for a while, then a poor artist, and then a rich artist, and then a rock star, and then a jazz singer. I'd still love to be a jazz singer, with black hair and emerald eyes and dark red lips and a tight black dress. That would be brilliant.

well wasn't that an adventure.

Silence Please [Dec. 7th, 2005|01:18 pm]
[mood |crappyHungover]
[music |Go Again - Silence Please]

just so i can rest my head,

silence please.

SO the thing is I'm fucking hungover right now and I feel like absolute shit. I swear i'm sweating gin. Sorry, that's a rather terrible image. It must be 35 degrees here. Too hot to sleep, too hot to move, too hot to do anything. too hot to do nothing.

"Well, well, well, well."

So after babysitting last night I went to Josh's house. Everyone was already drunk. I caught up quickly. Impressed everyone with my skulling techniques. Bad bad bad bad bad idea. I woke up at 5.30 and freaked out. Got out of bed and ran around the house going 'holy shit I can't believe I slept through the whole fucking day! Also, I can't fucking believe I'm still drunk! This is insane!'. I then went, 'wait a minute', ran to my room and looked at my phone that said 5.30am.

I did my impatient child face ( <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/Hannah/Smileys/pinch.gif" alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com"> ) and went the hell back to bed. I proceeded to dream about meeting Pats in Melbourne, a Queen concert and my Grandmothers house. Surprisingly, the latter was the most fun. I would like to show him off to my family. It was a strange dream. I dreamt Pats was at this hall type place and i was a short walk away and he didn't know, so I walked there and saw him setting up these giant letters, making a sign, and i ran up and hugged him. I can't really remember much else. I remember those letters though. they were cool.

I would go into details of the others but why bother, nobody is really interested.

I think I'm going to go and vomit into a hat. I feel repulsive.

I love [Dec. 6th, 2005|05:59 pm]
[mood |contemplativecontemplative]
[music |Sonic Youth- Tunic (Song For Karen)]

I love looking at him and realising that maybe he isn't as far gone as I thought he was. There's still that little bit of him left over, however obscured by the anger and the bitterness and the constant stream of drugs and alcohol he seems to have flowing into him. He's still there when I look hard enough. He still there to sing with me when he thinks nobody else can see.

I love someone who is very far away from me. Sometimes too far I think, or maybe that's only because I make it so. Maybe I'm just afraid of getting any closer. This connection is something different. It in no way overshadows the others in my life, but it stands out. He stands out.

I love someone who is so close I feel I could reach out and touch her at any second. This girl who could never love herself, who couldn't let herself be loved by anyone, who wont be loved by the people who should love her unconditionally. This girl who comes to my house late at night because she can't sleep in her own bed. This girl who leaves early in the morning for a place she hates, but always promises to come back home. This girl whose home is with me.

I love someone who is facing the world, trying to pretend she's not afraid. She's alone, so far away from everything she's ever known, doing exactly what she's done all her live. Being brave, making everyone believe she'll be fine, somehow managing to make it on her own, somehow managing to fool everyone.

I love a man who is furious with me.

I love a boy who denies me.

I love the wings her mother gave to her.

I love these women who hurt.

I love these sisters who hurt for each other.

I love a dying man.

I love his lost children.

I love a place that is lost to me now.

I love her pain, and take it from her.

I love his love and accept it slowly.

I love someone I lost a long time ago. I love his memory and the words he wrote. I love his story, but I hate how it ends. I love waiting for him, and knowing.

Live By The Mirror [Sep. 1st, 2005|07:48 pm]
[music |Robots In Disguise- Mirror Mirror]

Have just discovered Robots In Disguise, via the Mighty Boosh. Is there anything the Boosh can't do? Check them out here: http://www.robotsindisguise.co.uk/robotsindisguiseIV.html There's some hell-fly downloadables.

So anyway, here I am, sitting at my computer, listening to the best music I have heard in quite a while, whishing I could find more. I have an urge to scour the country for some albums. I hate being teased like this! AND to make it worse, I haven't eaten all day and dinner smells really good but it's going to take at least another hour GOD-FUCK-IT!

So, I had a rude shock today when I found out one of my colleagues is a crazy creationist. She was actually my maths teacher last year, I never liked her much and she never liked me because I was a better writer than her. But anyway. At work every day the school holds worship for 15 minutes before class, for a different grade each day, and every week a different department (maths department, art dpt, drama dpt etc) holds it. This week the chemistry people were doing it and they did a speel on evolution (baby). It was pretty cool, but afterwards this woman Sally Baigrie had a right spew about how we shouldn't be learning that because the bible says this and the bible says that and blah blah blah.

Psycho. Scary.

That's just a photo of a small section of it, it's just a large piece of calico with some water-oils. Looks kinda cool for an hours work!
